My husband and I sailed on Independence of the Seas on the 21st May 2008. We thoroughly enjoyed our first cruise and the ship was absolutely fantastic. We could not fault the shows which where superb and the food we enjoyed most of it. It was of a very high standard. We loved the excursions we went on as we had not been to the Canaries before so it was a good way to see the islands. Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote. The things we did not like were the seating arrangements for breakfast and lunch in the dining room. On a couple of occasions we would have preferred to sit at a table for 2 but were pushed together with four others or six others on the same table. Breakfast I understand as it is always very busy, but lunch was usually very quiet so there should not have been a problem. We loved having a balcony room as this really added to our experience of cruising. We were very happy with the room the quality was excellent and the use of space for cupboards superb, the size was also quite adequate for 2 people. We are looking forward to booking a cruise for next year with Royal Caribbean to visit some of the Mediterranean resorts.
