We left the Uk for Newark flying Contintal airlines from Manchester.
After 1 night in a hotel in Newark we boarded Explorer for our holiday
up the coast to New London,Newfoundland, Halifax Nova Scotia
St Johns Bar Harbour Maine Portland Maine and last stop Boston.
This holiday was one of the best we have done, mainly because of the
ports of call.So much to see and do and all can be done alone once
leaving the ship. The ship itself was excellant although we did have problems when it came to evening dining, our meals were fine except they were served to us cold, it seemed the staff had a long way to come to our table from the kithen. We did not let this spoil our holiday
we had a fantastic trip and would really recommend it. All other aspects of the ship were tap class as you would expect from this class of ship.
The people were really welcomming the high light of the trip was a visit to see the Nautulus Submarine in New London, we did this trip on our own just by taking a taxi.Other highlights were the Citadel in Halifax where we experience the firing of the noon day gun,(do try to make sure you are there in time to see that) finishing our cruise in Boston of course the shops were calling, but Boston had so much more to offer, great outside culture, plenty of bars where you can just sit and watch the world go by.
Plenty of really excellant street entertainers. This cruise was a cruise
you could take year after year because each stop had so many things to do and see.Highly recommended.
