Central Park on Royal Caribbean’s New Ship

Royal Caribbean’s new vessel, launching next year, will feature an open air park in the centre of the cruise ship. The centre of the ship will have the capability to open up, revealing grounds the length of a football pitch and featuring tables for dining, concert areas, flower gardens, canopy trees and street performances. The area will be named Central Park and will include a town square for unique daytime and evening experiences.

Royal Caribbean Cruises chairman Richard Fain said: “This ship is a quantum leap in architecture and design and will deliver an unparalleled vacation experience to all who sail with us.” Six decks of balcony staterooms will have views of the park below and the sky above. Restaurants and bars featured in the park include 150 Central Park, Central Park Café, Vintages wine bar, Gionvanni’s Table, Chops Grille steakhouse, Canopy Bar and Rising Tide Bar, which will be the first moving bar on a cruise ship – allowing customers to slowly ascend into the park and then back into the public spaces below as they drink.
