Q: Please would somebody advise me about cocktails on RCL cruises. I have sailed on Splendour,Brilliance & Jewel and in April will be sailing on Vision. In the past I have enjoyed a cocktail (or 2 !!) and one of my favourites is the rum based Zombie, which I can really reccommend!! Last year we travelled on the Emereld Princess and when I asked for a Zombie there was a big consultation by staff and then I was told that it would be very expensive as it was not on the bar list and would have to be specially made....now the ones that I did try from their list all seemed weak and only a whiff of alcohol, in fact a "rip off". On RCI the cocktails were made in front of you and really "packed a punch". Is this still the case? or have they too succumbed to the "mix with water" type. Sad isn't it when a cocktail is so important in my life!!!!

Not half as sad as deciding to start collecting the cocktail glasses and having to drink only certain ones that gave you the option of paying extra and keeping the glass. The problem is I actually dont really drink much as so was forcing down all sorts of weird concoctions just to add to the collection-tragic!! Bottoms up! Regards C Guy

I too have sailed Splendour, Granduer and this year Independence and the cocktails are fantastic! The guys in the Sky Bar and Champagne bar can make anything and are very generous with measures. There are a lot of posts on this site huffing and puffing about tipping and added service, well my experience with staff is you get out what you put in,ie pay the service, affect a rapport,be polite and tip an extra couple of dollars occasionally and BINGO! you get great service and full strength cocktails. Its not sad that a cocktail is important as great food and drink are paramount to my holiday enjoyment too.Have a fabulous cruise!

My sentiments exactly, if you travel through life treating people as you would expect to be treated yourself then you will never get into all this tipping meanness. What Scrooges some poeple are. We still keep in touch with a lovely little Phillipiono bar steward from the Brilliance and have found all the staff wonderful, and it is a pleasure to meet them and to repay their kindness. Thanks for your good wishes....cheers!!

Same cocktail menu served across the whole RCI fleet with the same menu - so enjoy your Zombie! http://travel.webshots.com/album/559018541CiiBCu?vhost=travel
