Q:
Oasis of the seas.... I have just tracked down a deck plan on the internet and as someone who travels with a family I am really suprised to find that on the whole of this massive family orientated ship there are only EIGHT inside FOUR berth cabins! Am I missing something here. I also note that out of the 20 outsides which accomodate 4 these are sofa beds and not pullmans. Anybody know any different?

I have just returned from Navigator of the Seas, I booked 4 berth Balcony cabin D1, I stipulated that a bed settee was not an option had to have 4 single beds. We had 4 days of hell trying to sort it out, we are still arguing now. The size of the rooms are excellent, the bed settee is a good option if you are midgets, just remember that the beds are all rounded so you only actually have one edge that is a normal size. I was assured that our cabin had 2 pullman beds that came out of the walls. DO NOT LISTEN, I was told by Luis, the manager, that only some 'E'grades have this option. I was also told that my cabin D2 had a bed settee in it for a 3rd person when in fact it was an ordinary settee measuring approx 18" wide if you want to try and sleep on it. Dont except a folding put you up bed in your room they are broken, rickety, un safe and very uncomfortable. Much more but should be enough info at mo.

As I understand it "Pullman beds" are those which are lowered from the ceiling and sofa beds, by their wording indicate beds which are made by extending a sofa. I hope I'm right. .... Neil

Sorry Neil, I do know the difference between pullamns and sofa beds. I was merely commenting on the seemingly lack of 4 berths and I do actually prefer to have a 4 berth with the upper pullmans (bunks). Some of us mere mortals cannot afford balcony cabins with Sofa beds and to be honest I dont think I would like a 4 berth with a sofa bed. Mainly because when in use it takes up valueable space. If the kids (teenagers) are still asleep after their late night, the cabin becomes cramped little space to dress/undress. If you have a 4 berth with bunks the kids can sleep till whenever - you still have the use of the floor space and the sofa if you have one.

Your question reads "these are sofa beds and not pullmans. Anybody know any different? " Just in case that was the bit that you didn't understand I answered it. Had I known that you were so knowledgable I wouldn't have bothered. My absolute and complete apology for being such a fool. ....Neil

No, think you are missing something - there are loads of rooms with the little triangle symbol that indicates a sofabed. I can see 18 alone on deck 3 (and that is just the insides)

The open triangle indicates 3 berths not 4 Quoted next to symbol: Stateroom with sofa bed. (Stateroom can accommodate 3 guests) so I guess its a single sofa bed.

There are 3/4 berth inside rooms in Cat M, L and PR. Taking one room at random - 10575 the deck plan shows this with the triangle so this is indeed a double sofa bed.

Thanks, but I am still confused. The legend on the deck plan I am looking at with an open triangle does indicate sofa bed but clearly states next to it; can accomodate 3, which leads me to belive it is only single sofa bed. It is only those with a solid diamond have sofa bed that accomodate 4. Only those marked with a vertical cross indicate 4 berths again of which I can only find eight INSIDES on the entire ship. This leads me to believe either I am misreading something or not looking at the same deck plan or have RCI gone mad? We all know that the four berths are the most popular and sell first.
